- The Site requires no registration and does not store on its servers what you type into its forms or calculators.
- We only receive data when you send it: when you request to join the WhatsApp community, write on WhatsApp or send an email.
- We use it to manage your invitation and reply to you. Personalized updates are optional and only with your authorization.
- We do not sell data. You can exercise your ARCO rights or withdraw consent by writing to frank@actuario.mx.
01Identity and address of the controller
Act. Francisco Javier Ruiz de la Peña Olea (the "Controller"), owner of actuaria.mx, is responsible for processing your personal data under Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on March 20, 2025 (the "Law"), and other applicable provisions.
02Personal data we process
The Site is informational and can be browsed without registering. We only process data you choose to provide and some technical browsing data:
| When | Data |
|---|---|
| Request to join the WhatsApp community | Name, profile (student, graduate, actuary, etc.), university or company (optional), city (optional), groups of interest and the authorizations you ticked. When you send it via WhatsApp, your phone number, WhatsApp name and profile photo are also received. |
| Questions by WhatsApp or email | Name, phone number or email address and the content of your message. |
| Browsing | IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, date and time, recorded automatically by the hosting provider and by the resource providers described in the Cookie policy. |
Sensitive data. We do not request sensitive personal data (for example health, ethnic origin, beliefs or preferences). Please do not share it in forms or messages.
Calculators. Values you enter in the calculators and simulators (ages, salaries, contribution weeks, amounts) are processed only in your browser and are not sent to the Controller.
03Purposes of processing
Primary purposes (necessary)
- Receiving and reviewing your request to join the community and sending you the invitation link to the groups you chose.
- Managing and moderating the community and enforcing its rules.
- Answering and following up on your questions, comments or requests.
- Operating, protecting and maintaining the Site and preventing misuse.
- Complying with legal obligations and requests from authorities.
Secondary purposes (optional)
- Sending you, personally, information about events, calls, scholarships, job openings and new actuaria.mx publications related to your profile.
- Producing aggregated, anonymous statistics on the composition of the community to improve the Site's content.
04How we obtain your data and consent
We obtain your data directly from you. The community form has separate checkboxes so that you expressly state: (i) your acceptance of the Terms and conditions and the community rules; (ii) that you have read this Privacy notice and authorize processing for the primary purposes; (iii) that you are of legal age or have the authorization of your parent or guardian; and (iv) optionally, your authorization for the secondary purposes.
The form does not store information on any Site server: your answers are assembled in your browser into a WhatsApp message that you decide whether to send. If you do not send it, the Controller receives no data.
05Minors
The Site is aimed at the general public, including high school students interested in the profession. If you are under 18, you may only send the community request with the authorization of your parent or guardian, who may exercise ARCO rights on your behalf. If we find that a minor's data was received without that authorization, we will delete it.
06Visibility of your data within the community
Because of how WhatsApp works, when you join a group your phone number, name and profile photo may be visible to the other members and administrators of that group, depending on your account's privacy settings. This visibility is inherent to the service you request and occurs when you accept the invitation. We recommend reviewing your WhatsApp privacy settings.
07Disclosures and transfers
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
Technology providers involved in operating the Site may process browsing data on their own behalf or on behalf of the Controller, including outside Mexico:
- Netlify, Inc. (United States): hosting of the Site and technical server logs.
- Google LLC (United States): web fonts and, when active, Google AdSense advertising.
- jsDelivr: delivery of the MathJax library used to display formulas.
- Internet Archive (Open Library): book cover images.
- WhatsApp LLC (Meta Platforms): the messaging service you choose to use, which processes your data under its own privacy policy.
Apart from the above, your data may only be disclosed to competent authorities when there is a well-founded request or a legal obligation. No transfers requiring your consent are made.
08Retention and security
We keep your data while you are part of the community or for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and, afterwards, only for the period strictly required to meet legal obligations; after that it is deleted.
We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical security measures: the Site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), keeps no user databases, and access to messages received is restricted to the Controller.
09ARCO rights and withdrawal of consent
You have the right to Access your data, Rectify it if inaccurate, Cancel it and Object to its processing for specific purposes (ARCO rights), as well as to withdraw any consent you have given.
To exercise them, send an email to frank@actuario.mx with the subject "ARCO rights" including:
- Your name and a means to send you the response.
- A document proving your identity or, where applicable, that of your representative and the document granting representation.
- A clear description of the data and the right you wish to exercise.
- Any information that helps locate your data (for example, the WhatsApp number you wrote from).
We will respond within the time limits set by the Law. If your request is granted, it will be carried out within the legal period following the response. You can also leave the community at any time from WhatsApp.
10Limiting the use or disclosure of your data
If you no longer wish to receive information for secondary purposes, simply send an email to frank@actuario.mx or a WhatsApp message saying "I do not wish to receive updates". We will record your request and stop using your data for those purposes.
11Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses browser local storage to remember preferences and some third-party resources that may use cookies. Details, duration and how to disable them are explained in the Cookie policy.
12Data protection authority
If you believe your right to personal data protection has been violated, you may contact the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno (Ministry of Anti-corruption and Good Governance), the competent authority under the Law.
